Arrow® Vascular Access Clinical Education
Device: Central Venous Catheters
Central Venous Catheters are an essential tool for the treatment of patients requiring short-term central venous access. With the goal of reducing infection and insertion-related complications, patient assessment and good insertion technique are equally important. Ultrasound gives the clinician the ability to assess and choose a healthy, patent vessel prior to placing the catheter. Good insertion technique will allow the CVC to be secured and dressed properly, minimizing the risk of site contamination and mechanical irritation from an improperly placed catheter. Learn best practice to achieve the best patient outcomes.
