Arrow® Vascular Access Clinical Education
Topic: Vascular Anatomy
Understanding vascular anatomy extends far beyond knowing the difference between an artery and a vein. Vascular access requires knowledge of how the vasculature drives clinical decision making of the device type, dwell time, therapy decisions, and potential complications. This is why we build our vascular access education on the philosophy of Right Line, Right Patient, Right Time™. Real-time ultrasound guidance is used to assess vessel health and patency, and has been shown to reduce catheter-related complications.1 In order to avoid complications associated with vascular access, the clinician must incorporate careful, evidence-based assessment and evaluation of the vascular anatomy.
